What Inspires You to Write?

Several things inspire me to write, but the main driving force is my children. The desire to provide the best life for them while pursuing what I love fuels my passion. I fell in love with writing at the age of 9 and published my first book when I was just 10. Writing is my calling; it’s how I express my inner self through pen and paper. A few years ago, I also realized that God had called me to be a minister. Initially, I believed this meant standing behind the pulpit, but I later understood that my true calling is to minister through my writing.

In every young adult and adult book I write, no matter how wild or unconventional the story may be, there is always an underlying message of ministry. Even in The Permanent Side Chick, you’ll find that at some point, my writing offers wisdom or encouragement, sometimes without the reader even realizing it (lol). God has blessed me with this gift, and I feel it’s only right to give thanks by using it to honor Him.

Writing also serves as a way for me to work through my own challenges. Often, the dialogue between characters explores heavy topics—many of which reflect my own thoughts and questions. The process of writing helps me confront my inner struggles and find the answers I’ve been searching for.
